The cover keeps each piece to itself. Sheer organza, so you see the garment on the hanger without opening anything, and open enough in the weave to let the fabric breathe. A closed cover made of plastic or non-woven traps the damp, and damp in a shut wardrobe through a humid season is what turns stored clothing musty.

The bottom is left open. Longer pieces can hang through, so the cover protects the shoulders and body where it matters and never forces a hem.
