What is Quiet Care?

The care and protection side of The Pillow Company: covers, shapers, bags and protectors for the things you own and put away. It spans four categories: Dining Care, Bag Care, Shoe Care and Garment Care.

What is in each category?

Dining Care holds plate covers, dinner set cases, tray and cutlery covers. Bag Care holds bag shapers, dust bags and chain wraps. Shoe Care holds shoe shapers, boot shapers, shoe bags, boot bags and care sets. Garment Care holds hanging garment covers in four lengths.

What is it made of?

It depends on what the piece has to do, and that is deliberate. Anything that holds a shape is quilted velvet over soft filling: bag shapers, shoe and boot shapers, chain wraps, and the dining covers. Anything that holds a thing is sheer and breathable: organza with velvet or linen trim for shoe bags and dust bags, organza with linen trim for garment covers. A shaper wants to be firm. A cover wants to breathe. They are not the same object.

How is this different from ordinary storage?

Most storage is built only to work, in plastic, felt, non-woven or nylon. Those seal damp in, and they look like what they are. Quiet Care is built to work and to belong: finished well enough to leave on an open shelf, and made so air moves through what needs to breathe.

Why does the way things are stored matter?

Because a thing keeps the shape it is left in and the air it is left in. A boot kept upright stays smooth at the ankle. A bag kept full keeps its posture. A garment that can breathe comes out as fresh as it went in. Quiet Care is made for that time between uses.

How do I care for these pieces?

Dry clean only, across the whole range. Keep everything dry and out of direct sun.
