Dining Table Covers
A dining table cover sets the tone before a single plate goes down. Ours are cut in velvet with a tassel edging, sized for an 8 ft x 4 ft, eight seater dining table, and made to sit under a full place setting for dinners that deserve a little ceremony.
Each cover measures 118 x 74 in (300 x 188 cm), which leaves an even fall of about 11 in at the ends and 13 in along the sides, with 5 in tassels below that. It comes in eight colours: black, beige, brown, amber, burgundy, pink, navy blue and green. That covers everything from a warm Diwali table to a deep winter dinner or a Christmas spread.
Layer a cover with placemats and runners for everyday protection, and finish with napkins and napkin rings, or start from the dining range and build the table out.
What size table does it fit?
Each cover is 118 x 74 in (300 x 188 cm) and is made for an 8 ft x 4 ft, eight seater dining table. On that table it falls about 11 in at each end and 13 in along each side, close to the 10 to 12 in drop most tables are dressed with, and the 5 in tassels hang below.
Will it fit a six seater table?
It will cover one, with a longer fall. On a typical six seater of about 6 ft x 3 ft, it drops around 20 in on each side, a more formal look. Measure your table and compare it with 118 x 74 in before you order.
Is it waterproof?
No. It is velvet, chosen for depth and colour rather than spill protection. For everyday meals, lay placemats over it and keep the cover for occasions.
What is it made of, and how do I care for it?
Velvet, with a tassel edging. Dry clean only. Blot spills straight away rather than rubbing them, and store it folded loosely or rolled to avoid hard creases.
Does it come in other sizes?
It is currently made in one size, for an 8 ft x 4 ft table.
Is it a good choice for Diwali, Christmas or a dinner party?
That is what it is made for. Pair a deep colour such as burgundy, green or navy blue with gold-edged placemats and napkins for a festive table, or beige and brown for a quieter one.
