The insert is the half of a cushion you never see and always feel. A good cover over a poor filler sags at the corners and flattens in a season; the right insert holds the shape, takes the weight, and lets the cover sit as it was meant to. The quiet half of the job, and the one most people underbuy.

We make two fills. Polyfill is the everyday choice, a light, resilient polyester fibre that plumps back after use and carries no quills to work loose. Microfiber is the fuller, softer option, denser, with more of the sink-in feel of down and none of its upkeep. Both are vegan and hypoallergenic: no feathers, no allergens, nothing to prick through the cloth.

Every insert is made to match a cover size exactly rather than sized up. Squares run from 40 to 66 cm, 40, 45, 50, 55 and the 66 cm euro, and lumbar and rectangular fillers from 23 x 30 cm to a long 35 x 90 cm. Match the insert to the cover and it sits full and square. What is a pillow insert, and what is pillow filler?

The same thing, the inner pad that fills a cushion or pillow cover and gives it shape. The cover is the cloth you see; the insert is the fill inside. Our covers are sold without a filler so you choose the right one and reuse it as covers change.

What sizes do your inserts come in?

Squares from 40 x 40 cm to a 66 x 66 cm euro, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 66 cm, and lumbar and rectangular fillers from 23 x 30 cm to a long 35 x 90 cm. The 66 cm square is often searched as a 26 x 26 inch insert; same size, in centimetres. Every cover size has a matching insert.

What is the difference between polyfill and microfiber?

Polyfill is the everyday fill, light, resilient, quick to plump back. Microfiber is denser and softer, with more of the sink-in feel of down while staying easy to live with. Polyfill holds a crisper shape, microfiber a fuller one. Both are vegan and hypoallergenic.

What size insert should I buy for my cover?

Are your inserts hypoallergenic?

Yes. Both fills are polyester, vegan, hypoallergenic and free of feathers or down, nothing to trigger feather allergies and no quills to work loose.

How do I care for them?

Keep the insert inside its cover for daily use and let the cover take the wear. Spot-clean gently if needed and keep it dry; a brief air and a light plump restores the loft.
