A good handbag is kept, not used up. It spends most of its life resting between outings, and that rest is where Bag Care does its work.
Bag Care is how it stays worth what it cost. A shaper to hold its form, a dust bag to keep it clean without sealing the leather in, a chain wrap so the strap rests softly against the body of the bag.
The heart of it is the bag shaper: a soft, structured pillow that sits inside and holds the line while the bag rests. We are, after all, The Pillow Company, so a quilted velvet pillow cut to the shape of a bag is the most natural thing we could make, and a finer object than the felt and foam the category usually offers. What is a bag shaper?
A soft, structured insert, a pillow in effect, that sits inside a handbag while it is stored, filling the volume so the bag keeps its posture, free of creases, between uses. Ours are cut to the shape of a bag rather than to a generic box: twelve exact fits across four families, plus ten universal shapes by bag type.
What is in Bag Care?
Bag shapers in twenty-two shapes, dust bags in four sizes, and chain wraps in three lengths. A stored bag usually wants a shaper inside and a dust bag over it.
Do you make bag organisers?
No. An organiser is a compartmented liner that holds your things and lifts from one bag to the next. A shaper holds the bag's form and nothing else. They are different objects solving different problems, and we make shapers. If what you want is pockets, this is not that.
Why velvet, when others use felt?
Felt is functional. Velvet is the version you are glad to see when you open the wardrobe. The outer is quilted velvet over soft filling, with no board, frame or plastic inside: firm enough to hold a line, soft enough to sit against fine leather.
Why is a dust bag sheer rather than opaque?
So you can see which bag is which without opening four of them, and so the weave lets air move through. A closed cover traps damp against leather, which is the thing stored leather least wants.
How do I care for these pieces?
Dry clean only. Keep dry and away from direct sun.
